Halloween

HALLOWEEN - Written by Carroll Bryant

I was walking down the street with a vengeance
The wind was blowing wild, so cool
I reflected to the first time you saw me
I saw you ……. My spirit
I was lonely …. My spirit

And the gate to your graveyard was open
I could only wonder if you were to bury me
And I viewed the tombstones of your lovers
And inscribed on them all was simply ‘rest in peace’

And I was walking through a dark field of dreams
In the distance I thought I heard you scream
I wasn’t frightened by the power, just the mystery
And I was caught up in Halloween
Your love scared me … Your love

I was walking down the street with ambition
The force was pulling me like a fool
I deflated all of my common conscience
I used you …. My spirit
I was angry …. My spirit

And the road to your kingdom was tainted
I could only wonder if you were to mistreat me
And I viewed the torture of your lovers
And inflicted on them all was misery

And I was walking through a dark field of dreams
In the distance I thought I heard you scream
I wasn’t frightened by the power, just the mystery
And I was caught up in Halloween
Your love scares me … Your love

I can’t explain it .. I could never explain it
I was walking down the street … just walking down the street

Words on the tombstones are words that needn’t be spoken
Just viewed by my eyes and it scared me inside

Don’t say you love me … please don’t tell me you love me
I thought I heard you scream … lovers and mysteries

Lovers are mysteries, lovers are miseries …. Halloween
Your love scared me …  Your love scares me
Your love scared me …. Your love
